Hello! My name is Julianna Pelayo. I'm currently a sophomore studying Sociology at California State University, Long Beach. My interest in Sociology really sparked in high school when I became a part of the Environmental Careers Academy where we focused on creating a better and sustainable environment in our low income community. It was then when I allowed myself to do more research and find that the lack of resources given to our community was no coincidence. With my education in Sociology, I plan to do further research on social environments, social injustices, and race. I am passionate about actively working against injustices and I am excited to be part of change.
